Provision of transcription services (Hansard) to Jersey’s States Assembly

Tender description

This tender relates to the transcription of sittings of the States Assembly and of the public meetings of scrutiny panels. The transcripts are colloquially known as “Hansard” after the firm which published the principal account of the proceedings of the UK House of Commons in the nineteenth century. Hansard transcription began in Jersey in 2005 The provision of Hansard, relatively swiftly after the meeting to which it relates, for online publication is an essential element in the transparency and public accountability of the States Assembly. The States Greffe also wishes to develop the output from transcription so that it can be published as structured open data and would wish to work with a contractor on achieving this aim.
