Tender description

The University of Warwick, Physics department has a requirement for to purchase a Confocal Microscope Based System for Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy. The University of Warwick, Physics department, has a requirement for to purchase a Confocal Microscope Based System for Raman & Photoluminescence Spectroscopy. This project (EP/P030572/1: Multi-User Equipment to Refresh Underpinning Analytical Capabilities at the University of Warwick) will update a portfolio of key underpinning, multi-user equipment at Warwick (UW) that will be used to facilitate and strengthen in the broad area of Analytical Sciences (AS). This investment supports research that falls within EPSRC's strategic priorities, and is comprehensively aligned to the UW research strategy and substantial investment in AS. We seek to do this by: —Replacing and upgrading four instruments from within our Mass Spectrometry Facility, which are now obsolete or reaching end of life, including an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer, Gas Chromatography Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, MicroTOF Focus and 3D ion trap Mass Spectrometer; increasing both our analytical capacity and improving analysis sensitivity. —Replace and upgrade three core workhorse microscopy equipment items from within our Microscopy Research Technology Platform (RTP): including a Transmission Electron Microscope, Atomic Force Microscope, and confocal Raman/Photoluminescence spectrometer/microscope; allowing us to increase both our core analysis capacity through higher speed imaging, and improved resolution. —Replace and upgrade the Parameter Analyser and Probing System from within the University's Power Electronic Characterisation suite, to enable both greater processing capacity and the analysis of devices at higher voltage. The equipment requested will underpin the AS research of a number of groups (>50) from across a range of departments (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and WMG) within the Faculty of Science at Warwick. This Tender relates to a Confocal Microscope System for Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy.
