Tender description

Background Kent County Council (the council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3 500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over 900 000 000 GBP on goods and services and a population of 1 300 000 GBP. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils seven clinical commissioning groups and 289 parish/town councils. The Council has a statutory responsibility for Public Health and procures a number of services, which aim to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities across the county. The contract opportunity Kent County Council sought tenders from experienced providers who can deliver cohorts of programmes for Public Health Practitioners to gain the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) across Kent and Medway and Surrey and Sussex. The programmes are as follows: — Commentary Writing and Mapping Workshop — This one day workshop supports public health practitioners to develop and understand how to form a portfolio of evidence against the UKPHR practitioner standards for registration. This workshop will take place on 10th February in a central location in Kent. — Fast Track Learning Days — These 3, 2 day programme are set over a period of 4 months and are taking place on 30.3.2017 and 31.3.2017, 4.5.2017 and 5.5.2017 and 10.6.2017 and 11.6.2017. This programme support public health practitioners to produce a portfolio of evidence against the UKPHR practitioner standards for registration. FastTrack Learning Days are for those Practitioners who have chosen and are eligible for the Fast Track Route to Registration. This programme will take place in a central location in Kent. — Portfolio Development Group — This 6, 1-day programme are closed groups, usually containing 8-12 practitioners. The groups will be a mixture of action learning, 1:1 individual support and portfolio writing. Led by a facilitator, the group members will submit their portfolio for assessment and work towards verification within the time-scales set. The dates for programme will be confirmed in the near future.
