ESCC SS Invitation to Tender for a provision of a Community Wide Physical Activity Intervention - AWARD

Tender description

East Sussex County Council Public Health Division intends to commission an evidence-based, community wide physical activity intervention, during March 2017 - 31st March 2018 (with the option to extend for further 12-months). The council's vision is to implement an innovative physical activity concept which would turn identified localities in East Sussex into a "competition/game", encouraging children and adults to become more active in their local communities. The aim of this service is to provide an 8-week 'competition/game' across identified localities in East Sussex between April-November 2017 (during school-time), which will utilise the use of technology to track participation. The community-wide physical activity intervention should connect individuals with their local environment and support long term behaviour change through creating a social norm around becoming active. It should also contribute to an increase in habitual physical activity levels and improved health and wellbeing outcomes as a result of sustained participation in physical activity.
