Tender description

The purpose of this exercise is to, prior to a potential procurement process, gain an understanding of initial thoughts, appetite and information from potential delivery organisations regarding a number of issues related to the delivery of the Community Enterprise Durham project. This county-wide project will increase the number of community enterprises in County Durham and support them to grow and thrive by promoting entrepreneurialism. It will change the culture within communities by demonstrating the benefits of enterprise and supporting people to become enterprise ready, establish new enterprises and increase employment by expanding the reach and activities of the community enterprises. Through consultation with organisations delivering business support it is recognised that a central ‘brokerage’ role is needed to link local enterprises and entrepreneurs to existing mainstream support. This proposal will create something different, which will enhance and promote existing provision whilst not duplicating or competing with this provision. It is to be noted this Contract maybe subject to ERDF (European Regional Development Funds) grant conditions of which further detail is provided in the soft market testing document.
