Tender description

The Procurement is split into 2 lots Lot 1 — Architectural Services and Lot 2 — Structural Engineering Services. The aim of the Gateway to Medieval England project is to restore the historical and architectural integrity of Norwich Castle Keep, one of the most important and impressive secular buildings of its time in Europe. Currently reduced to a shell, the project will reconfigure the internal layout to replicate the original floor levels and rooms and create a powerful immersive learning experience, enabling people to explore the building as a Norman royal palace. The restored internal floors and spaces will provide a state of the art community venue supporting an extensive and creative programme of formal and informal learning events, alongside commercial functions. A new British Museum Gallery of the Medieval Period will highlight the importance of Norwich within Britain and on the international stage. Norfolk County Council wishes to enter into a contract for the provision of Architectural Services for the Norwich Castle: Gateway to Medieval England Project.
