Tender description
Thank you for showing an interest in the Authority's requirement for Provision of Inspection of Mine Entry 2017. The Coal Authority manages a proactive mine entry inspection regime which currently seeks to inspect a minimum of 10 000 Mine Entries per annum across the UK coalfields. Through this contract the Coal Authority is seeking to procure resources to undertake those inspections and report on findings. Contract requires a service that can undertake mine entry inspections throughout the compulsory and optional coalfield regions. This element of the service will be subject to confirmation. The Coal Authority wishes to establish a Multi-Provider Framework Agreement for the provisions of Inspection of Mine Entry 2017 services in the following regions: Compulsory Regions: Region 1 Scotland East; Region 2 Scotland west; Region 3 Northumberland, Durham and Cumbria; Region 4 Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bristol area; Region 5 North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire; Region 6 North and West Yorkshire; Region 7 South Yorkshire (Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster) Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire; Region 8 Staffordshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Warwickshire, Heredfordshire and Worcestershire; Region 9 South Wales, Pembrokeshire and North Gloucestershire (Forest of Dean). Optional Regions Region 8 Campbeltown (Mull of Kintyre); Region 9 Brora (Sutherland); Region 10 Kent; Region 11 Devon; Region 12 Anglesey. The Coal Authority anticipates that it will enter into a Framework Agreement up-to 6 providers. There is no pre-determined frequency of inspections set out in this Contract other than Mine Entries to be inspected at the rate of an average or up-to an estimated 833 per calendar month or to achieve at least 10 000 mine entry inspections during each year of the contract. Tenderers are required to submit a fixed price per inspection. The Authority is unable to guarantee the volume and value of allocated work. Individual works packages will be awarded on an as and when required basis. The Contract will commence in June 2017 for a period of 36 months terminating on 31.5.2020 with an option to extend further for a 12 month period at the discretion of The Coal Authority.
