Worcestershire County Council Archive and Archaeology Service (WAAS) are looking for agencies with amazingly creative ideas, a great track record of delivery and proven metrics to help us develop a new commercial venture across the UK and internationally. WAAS is based in The Hive, Worcester, and delivers a wide range of services to a broad group of customers and stakeholders. The service covers both archives and archaeology with teams working to successfully bid for, and deliver, cross disciplinary projects and commercial offers. WAAS has continued to operate a high quality service despite substantial reductions in funding by developing a unique (for its sector) business model to underpin its statutory roles and ensure high customer satisfaction. This model has been recognised as innovative and forward thinking by national organisations such as The National Archives, Historic England, the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and the Council for British Archaeology. WAAS is looking for partners to develop a commercially focused website which will promote its commercial products. The web site will be in addition to the existing County Council service website www.worcestershire.gov.uk/waas and the Worcestershire County Council on-line payments system. It will need to link to these but unlike them should be focused on increasing sales. The Council also require digital marketing expertise to support the development of the website, promote the products, monitor sales against views and change marketing strategies as appropriate. At present the Council sell products to the UK and internationally but on a very small scale. WAAS is particularly looking to increase international sales and will pick a partner who can demonstrate their success in this area. Together the website and marketing programme will promote WAAS services in a fresh and innovative way without the restrictions of corporate branding. It must contain visually interesting, relevant content tailored to the different customer segments. It must engage with users and make the biggest impact possible.
