Who Speclialist Work With ISS DPS NSoIT(D) What Specialists Work On Responsible for establishing and transforming the New Style of IT (Deployed) design team and leading the technical delivery aspects of the NSoIT(D) design project. Managing all aspects of the delivery lifecycle to reduce the technical and live service risk associated with the transition and migration from the existing to future services and suppliers. Will also interface with the projects that interoperate with the deployed domain to ensure coherence in transitions across the Defence as a Platform (DaaP) Portfolio. Where the Work Takes Place MoD Corsham Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements 5 days a week (37 hours per week) within a bandwidth of 08:00 - 18:00 (hours to be agreed with individual teams). Individuals will be permitted to leave by 1500hrs on Friday. All the tasking is expected to be carried out on site. If 'OFF-SITE' working is required expenses will require to be agreed with Line management and up to a limit of £5k for the term of the contract. All resources will be provided, access to the organisation's IT system and no utilisaton of personal or company laptops will be permitted. Work Location MoD Corsham Security Clearance Individuals will be required to hold a minimum of 'SC' clearance, with the ability to obtain DV as soon as possible, in order to work across the various ISS Portfolio. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Degree qualified in Engineering or Computer Science related subject, Chartered Engineer or Chartered IT Professional (i.e. CEng or CITP), Engineering or Computer Science related professional qualification (i.e. MIET or MBCS) 5+ years’ experience in Head of Design or Engineering Programme Manager role 15+ years’ experience of in design and establishment of engineering delivery; organisations across design, development, test and release to service Experience and skills in Agile programme and project management methods Formal Agile certification required (i.e. CSM, PMI-ACP or PRINCE2 Agile),ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management; Plaform Services Formal programme and project management certification (MSP and PRINCE2 preferred, PMP, etc.) 15+ years’ mission critical systems engineering experience Experience of managing and chairing of engineering design reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, PRRs, etc.); Extensive expertise in IT Infrastructure and applications design and delivery Delivery of deployed platforms into limited bandwidth environments, including mobile Software defined data-centre virtualisation techniques and products (e.g. VMware) 10+ years’ software development experience Application migration experience Security principles including, encryption and security of networks at IL3 and IL5 Technical management of multiple hardware and software suppliers Delivery of IT services worldwide across multiple suppliers and geographic boundaries Experience in the release of Bills of Materials (BOMs), hardware drawings and designs Continuous Delivery Models (e.g. DevOps) Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket) Nice to Haves Agile coach experience including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Kaizen, etc . 5+ years’ of MOD ICT operational experience of Deployed Platform Services Experience of deployed mission systems (e.g. mission planning systems) Orchestration techniques and products (e.g. Ansible, Puppet) Remote access and mobile technologies Tactical communication network technologies Understanding of the Defence Operating Model, and ISS’ role within the Front Line Command deployed operating model Worldwide transition and convergence of multiple systems covering: users, applications, infrastructure and data Delivery of secure IT systems into non-UK geographies No. of Specialists to Evaluate 10 Cultural Fit Criteria 15+ years’ experience in providing engineering leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in large public or private sector organisations in the defence sector Ability to handle a complex delivery landscape - multiple suppliers, multiple stakeholders Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills Transparent and collaborative when making decisions Have a flexible approach Ability to integrate and work as part of a team Proactive rather than reactive Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 65% Cultural fit 5% Price 30% Questions from Suppliers Budget range maximum daily rate is £780 (ex vat)
