North Kirklees CCG Market Engagement - Urgent & Primary Care Service

The purpose of this opportunity is to gauge market interest and potential for introducing an Urgent & Primary Care service for the people of North Kirklees. The Commissioner is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to further inform their plans which encompass an Urgent & Primary Care Service. The service includes two elements: - A co-located Urgent & Primary Care Stream (minor illness/injury) within the A&E department (but separate & discrete from the main ED) at Dewsbury District Hospital [DDH] (part of the Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospital Trust [MYHT] estate) - An Urgent & Primary Care Hub (co-ordination of same-day urgent GP appointments and home visits) The Commissioner is keen to create a collaborative approach between providers which supports true integration of services in line with the GP Five Year Forward View and New models of Care. The provision of a local integrated Urgent & Primary Care Service is a key element of the CCG plan to deliver 24/7 access. Current service provision is a Type 1 and Type 3 A&E department (24/7) at Dewsbury District Hospital with a co-located Type 4 Walk-In Centre. Joint governance arrangements will be required with MYHT. The majority of patients will be registered with either a North Kirklees CCG GP or a GP practice within neighbouring CCGs.
