Tender description

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP), commissioning on behalf of NHS England and the Welsh Government, invites tenders from suitable providers who are able to provide a national clinical audit of Care at the End of Life. This requires collection, analysis and effective reporting of robust comparative data on the quality of care and patient outcomes for patients in the last few days and hours of life, being cared for by NHS funded services in England and Wales. Engagement with clinicians, patient groups, commissioners (both local and national), service providers and major charities is essential. The aims of the audit will be realised by the execution of a programme with the following elements: a) A case note audit of in-patients in hospitals in the last few days and hours of life; b) Organisational Audit; c) Carer Reported Experience Measures; d) Staff Reported Measures; e) Periodic, time-limited, topic-specific ‘spotlight’ audits; f) Feasibility study for roll out to community settings.
