Tender description

HS2 Ltd requires the Supplier to evaluate potential dispatch methods and work collaboratively with HS2 Ltd to develop recommendations for the preferred option. Currently a number of options have been considered from fully automated dispatch to more traditional methods such as Conductor/Driver dispatch methods or Closed Doors (CD) and Right Away (RA). To progress towards a decision, research is required and a detailed paper on the benefits/dis-benefits of each method, to include case studies highlighting where the identified options are utilised currently. On the completion of this Contract, the HS2 Ltd. Train Operations team will have a clear understanding of: • Available dispatch methods, their benefits, potential disadvantages, associated risks and likely costs. • Compliance and potential misalignment with Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) and HS2 documentation; • System definition and system safety plan; and • Safety analysis required and risk assessments.
