North of England Commissioning Support are working for and on behalf of NHS England (Cumbria and North East) who wish to commission Urgent In Hours Dental Service across Durham, Darlington, Tees, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear as pilots. The aim of the Urgent In Hours Dental Service is to implement pilots and trial the structured provision of daily dental clinical access slots (Monday to Friday) that are dedicated to and are directly accessible by NHS 111 call handlers with the aim of providing more responsive and guaranteed same day or next day placement of unscheduled dental care patients to ensure that nationally prescribed dental patient disposition timeframes are met for this patient group.
