Cambridgeshire County Council Stop Smoking Services

Tender description

Camquit is CCC's local evidence based Stop Smoking Service. Smokers are offered behavioral therapy (which may be individual or group counselling) which involves face-to-face meetings with a Stop Smoking Services advisor trained in smoking cessation. A quit date is set initially, typically followed by weekly sessions over a period of at least 4 weeks after the quit date and normally combined with NRT/drug therapy. The Service is delivered through a number of different providers. The team is currently an in house provider, part of the Public Health Provider Team. The team includes smoking cessation specialists and data staff support staff. Staff support smokers trying to quit, delivering specialist services such as smoking in pregnancy and young person's programmes, service marketing, targeted project work, managing data processing, analysis and reporting. It provides support to commissioned providers by delivering training in line with national guidance and practice visits if needed. The current contract for Cambridgeshire's Stop Smoking Service (SSS) has reached its end. It will now be integrated into the Integrated Lifestyle Service (ILS) via a contract variation. For this reason there has been no prior publication.
