Tender description

Provision of Access Fund Programme Management Support. The contract is to run from 01 April 2017 to the 31 March 2020. The Department for Transport (“DfT”) has awarded £1.25 million to the Authority in 17/18-19/20 from its Access Fund, in order to deliver economic growth and carbon reduction outcomes through sustainable transport initiatives. The programme will inspire residents and visitors to build active, sustainable modes into everyday journeys, supporting economic growth and reducing carbon. This will be achieved through an innovative programme of workplace and school engagement, and an ambitious expansion of the recent LSTF (“Local Sustainable Transport Fund”) and STTY (“Sustainable Transport Transition Year”) programmes. Projects within the programme will be delivered through proven partnerships with the education, business and tourism sectors. The programme is cross cutting and ambitious, will embrace innovation and deliver inspirational sustainable transport solutions for residents and visitors, and achieve the following three objectives: • Reduce the impact of visitor travel on the Isle of Wight, while growing the value of the visitor economy; • Reduce dependency on single occupancy car trips and promote sustainable alternatives for access to employment; • Improve the health and wellbeing of young people through sustainable access to education.
