Water-main refurbishment construction work

Tender description

Irish Water proposes to carry out rehabilitation works on sections of the water distribution network in County Carlow. Works will involve:(i) the rehabilitation of approximately 10km of watermains in Carlow Town, Tullow, Bagenalstown and Tinnahinch (ii)The replacement of back yard water mains and service connections with new service connections from either existing or new water mains located in public property, in Carlow Town, Bagenalstown and Tinnahinch. The replacement shall include both public &private side replacement of the entire service connection including all works necessary within private property.(iii)The transfer of connections from existing mains to be decommissioned to existing or new mains in Carlow Town, Bagenalstown, Tinnahinch and Tullow. (iv) Decommissioning of existing mains, fittings and service connections. The purpose of the works is to reduce leakage,rationalise the distribution system and to replace lead service pipe connections.
