Tender description

Dumfries and Galloway Council requires a suitable organisation that can provide Public Space CCTV (Upgrade) systems across Dumfries and Galloway region. The contract includes the supply of cameras and recording equipment, transmission and installation and testing of equipment being supplied. The Council's current public space CCTV systems have been installed across the local authority area to provide surveillance capabilities in: — Dumfries (not to be upgraded), — Annan, — Gretna, — Lockerbie, — Langholm, — Moffat, — Sanquhar, — Kirkconnel and Kelloholm, — Castle Douglas, — Dalbeattie, — Kirkcudbright, — Newton Stewart, — Stranraer. Many of the systems have now been deemed as unfit for purpose and, along with the need to relocate recording equipment, have been earmarked for upgrade. The contract includes the supply of cameras and recording equipment, transmission and installation and testing of the equipment being supplied. Each CCTV camera signal is to be transmitted to a nominated local authority building. Locations are detailed within the supporting documentation. There are 2 transmission solutions that will be specified, these are wireless and fibre optic. The authority may choose to deliver any required civil engineering and supply and deployment of required CCTV masts. Maintenance is not required as this will be carried out by the authority.
