Department of Health — is preparing to initiate a procurement process to cover research into institutions that maintained unmarried mothers and their children across the relevant period of the 20th Century in Northern Ireland. Before launching a procurement procedure, DoH and CPD are conducting market consultations with a view to preparing the procurement and to inform economic operators / warm the market to the opportunity of the future procurement requirements. The objectives of this exercise are to: —Prevent unachievable projects from reaching Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) stage; —Gain initial supplier awareness, engagement and opinion, resulting in a confidence around viability of concept; —Gain insight to the market possibilities and potential innovative solutions; —Understand risks and issues not previously considered; —Gain initial supplier awareness, engagement and opinion; and —Inform the Procurement Strategy. The aim of this study is to cover research into institutions that maintained unmarried mothers and their children across the relevant period of the 20th Century in Northern Ireland. The research is to incorporate: * A Literature Review * An examination of archive records i.e. surviving records from the institutions and files and records from Government Departments during the relevant period of the 20th Century and; * An oral history project to include testimony of former residents and other witnesses from the institutions during the relevant 20th Century. ** please note: all completed questionnaires must be submiteed via the ETENDERSNI before 15:00 on Wednesday 12.4.2017.
