Tender description
The Provider is required to undertake the movement of bodies from the place of death to the specified hospital mortuary / funeral home on the direction of a Police Officer (or other person authorised by the HM Coroner). At times the Provider will be required to arrange the movement and storage of bodies prior to transportation to a designated hospital mortuary and should therefore have the appropriate storage facilities. The County will be divided into four geographical areas encompassing the 7 district and borough areas (as detailed in map below). Providers can apply to cover any area/Lot (providing they can cover the whole area) or may apply for more than one area/Lot by ticking the relevant box(es) within the Tender questionnaire. You may apply for all four areas however we will only award a maximum of two Lots to a single Provider. 1 Northampton. 2 Kettering and Corby. 3 Daventry and South Northamptonshire. 4 Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire. As per description above. The service will be required from 1.7.2017 for an initial period of 3 years (up to 31.6.2020) with an option to extend for a further period of up to 1 year, taking the total contract term to a maximum of 4 years. Any extension will be agreed between the Council and the providers. The Authority believes that TUPE does not apply to this contract at its commencement. The detailed requirements are defined in the Specification. The deadline for completed ITTs to be received on the LGSS eTendering Portal is 12:00 noon on Friday 28.4.2017. As per description above. The service will be required from 1.7.2017 for an initial period of 3 years (up to 31.6.2020) with an option to extend for a further period of up to 1 year, taking the total contract term to a maximum of 4 years.
