The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is a tertiary cancer centre, based in Manchester. We provide world renowned clinical services for our patients, first class education of cancer professionals and our clinical trials unit is recognised as a leading centre in Europe. We are the lead cancer centre for a network of services serving 3 200 000 people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. We also provide some highly specialised services for patients across the UK. Our vision is to continue to deliver top quality cancer care whilst maintaining financial sustainability and demonstrating excellent clinical outcomes The Trust requires a supplier to provide Histocompatibility and Immunogenetic Services. The Haematology and Transplant Unit at The Christie is one of the largest centres in the country specialising in the treatment of haematological malignancies. The unit sees in excess of 7 000 outpatient cases and 1 800 inpatient/day case episodes per year. Established in 1982, The Stem Cell Transplant Programme now performs over 120 transplants a year for both NHS and private patients. We initially achieved full accreditation with the Joint Accreditation Committee for ISCT and EBMT (JACIE) in 2009, and successfully obtained re-accreditation in May 2016.
