Summary of the work Solaris SPARC/AIX IBM system engineer required for a data migration project. Proven hands-on experience working in both OS and Hardware platforms. Specialist role Web operations engineer Expected Contract Length 3-6 month Latest start date 02/05/2017 Who Speclialist Work With Team of existing DevOps engineers, Architects and multiple teams of Developers What Specialists Work On Participate in the planning of migration SPARC Solaris and IBM PowerPC Aix servers into new physical environment Overlook the hardware installation in the DC Setting up JumpStart and NIM servers Install OS and configure all services to integrate into current environment Setting up update and patching strategies for both Solaris and AIX Integrate with the existing Linux management stack Configure HBAs of SPARC and IBM servers to connect to SAN and prepare volumes for hosting OracleDB Work on current Linux AWS platform Skills & Experience • Solaris • AIX • SPARC • PowerPC • Linux • Volume/storage management from the OS • Networking • Puppet • JumpStart&NIM • Kickstart • Scripting Nice to Haves • Puppet • AWS • Foreman • Oracle Work Location London, Marsham street, Home Office Working Arrangments Working mainly in the office with a flexibility to work remotely 1 day a week after on-boarding. Datacenter trips might be required very occasionally.
