SOJ-HSSD-T Out of Hours Crisis Centre

Tender description

As part of the commitment to improving the way Health and Social Care services are delivered in the future, a review of all the services for mental health offered in Jersey was completed during 2015. During the review front line practitioners, service managers and people with lived experience all identified access to services and continuity of care during ‘out of hours’ as a priority area. This new facility would be integrated, via an agreed pathway and protocol, into the existing emergency support services which include the Drunk and Disorderly Unit, Psychiatric Liaison Service, Custody and the Hospital Emergency Department. The out of hour’s Crisis Café would also be supported by another pilot service which is also being developed in parallel. Namely, a new street triage service which will act as a decision support to Police and Ambulance staff responding to mental health crisis out of hours. The proposed plan is that during a period of two years, the service can be tested safely with a accurately costed service being tendered at the end of 2019 which reflects the learning from the pilot phase.
