SOFT MARKET TESTING - Community resource facility & short breaks for people aged 18 and over with Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties

Leicestershire County Council is undertaking a Soft Market Test on behalf of a group of parents/carers of young adults with Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). For the purpose of this exercise the requirement relates to the provision of appropriate day care facilities and short break respite services for young people, aged 18 and over, at the most complex end of the PMLD spectrum. At this stage the Council is engaging with the market to explore existing provisions in Leicestershire and establish market interest in developing future services. The Council is undertaking this exercise on behalf of a group of parents/carers of young adults with PMLD needs are not committing to undertake any formal procurement or commissioning exercise as a result of this notice. The Council is committed to support personal budget recipients by facilitating any market engagement, but decisions regarding the commissioning of individual or pooled services will be made by the individuals and/or their parents/carers. Interested providers are invited to respond by completing a Soft Market Testing questionnaire which the council will use to inform the PMLD parents/carers group of their options and further market engagement opportunities.
