Tender description

The successful tenderer will be required to provide cleaning services at Maidstone Grammar School for Girls. Maidstone Grammar School for Girls (MGGS) in Maidstone, Kent, was founded in 1888. It is a selective, foundation school for girls between 11-16, with a mixed Sixth Form. Judged by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’, it enjoys a reputation as one of the finest grammar schools in Kent, fostering academic distinction, intellectual curiosity, creativity and courage in our students. MGGS is committed to encouraging healthy eating and meeting the specific needs of school girls. The School moved to the existing site in 1938; buildings vary significantly from a 1930s brick build, ‘temporary’ 1950s buildings, a ROSLA annex and two new blocks completed in the last 5 years. The School is working to further increase the number of new builds, with the 1950s ‘temporary’ buildings next to be replaced. The School wants all students to feel proud of the environment in which they work. The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful contractor to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a School that is fit for purpose and that the Contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the Tender Specification. It should be noted that the successful contractor will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term. Please be advised that this contract will be let on a 2 years 7 months + 2 years basis.
