Provision of Research for HMIC's Leadership Inspection Methodology

HMIC recognises that our approach to inspection would benefit from a more robust methodology which could provide us with a stronger evidence base, focused on the best way to inspect police leadership. We are looking for ways to gather robust quantitative and qualitative evidence to be able to assess leadership across a police force and the service as a whole, including both organisational and operational leadership. This research is being commissioned in order to explore what other organisations are doing and have done to assess and inspect leadership, and then, building on this, how HMIC could best leverage what works in order to inform future inspection methodologies.
