Vasectomy service

Tender description

Commissioners within NHS Brighton and Hove CCG are considering commissioning a Community Vasectomy Service under a single provider contract. The current service currently provides for circa 230 procedures per annum. The proposed service would be commissioned to provide GPs with a community vasectomy service in Brighton and Hove. This service will offer patients and partners with advice, counselling and support prior to the procedure. It is proposed that this service is commissioned to include extended hours and weekend clinics. This service will deliver a safe, high quality service provided in a community setting with a choice of date and time of appointments, excellent outcomes and an improved patient experience. It is anticipated that the service would be offered for tender under a standard NHS contract for a period of 3 years commencing on the 1st October 2017 with option to extend for a maximum of a further two years. The purpose of this RFI is to gauge market interest and feedback via the RFI response form for the provision of Vasectomy Services and provide the CCG with valuable information to help update and improve the current service specification.
