Tender description

The British High Commission represents the British Government in its relations with the Nigerian Government and is committed to a dynamic and mutually beneficial relationship with Nigeria. This stems from a shared history, enduring friendship and vital political, economic commercial and cultural interests. The British High Commission Abuja (BHC) wishes to engage the services of a credible and reputable contractor to provide grounds maintenance (cleaning and gardening) services in its offices and residential compounds located in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano and Enugu including the maintenance of swimming pools. Expressions of Interest are hereby invited from contractors with relevant experience and a good track record. The Contractor shall be contracted by BHC to provide cleaning, gardening and swimming pool maintenance services on the BHC Abuja Estate (listed in Section 8) and shall arrange, provide and manage the specified services for the duration of the Contract. The Contractor shall be required to provide a high-quality service and will be responsible for close and on-going monitoring of service delivery. The Contractor shall employ sufficient and suitable personnel at all times for the proper and effective delivery of the service to the standard and quality specified. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all cleaning, gardening and swimming pool maintenance equipment, and utensils. The contractor shall ensure that these materials will cause no harm to the environment, the contents or the fabric of the buildings that they are used in. Items supplied by the contractor are to be discussed and agreed with BHC. The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with BHC's health and safety policies and all local laws covering the delivery of the services. The Contractor shall provide effective management control and supervision of its workforce and shall possess the requisite knowledge, skills, plant and equipment to undertake the work.
