Tender description

The service is required for the kerbside and back door collection, kerbside sort and recycling of dry recyclables from approximately 14 500 households within the Council area. House numbers are subject to change. Households receive a weekly collection service, are of varying house types and occupancy and of an urban/rural mix. Collected materials are required to be delivered and treated at an authorised and fully licensed waste facility, so as to maximise the quality and levels of materials recycled. Kerbside Sort. The current service utilises a combination of 55 litre black and red kerbside boxes with lids. However, approximately 850 households use a Wheelie Box. triple stack unit. . The Wheelie Box comprises 3 boxes stacked on top of each other and mounted on a wheeled trolley frame. Approximate sizes of boxes — top box 45 litres, middle box 55 litres, bottom box 55 litres. Householders are required to sort their recyclables into the appropriate boxes. Indicative tonnages are given below. Tonnages are not guaranteed.. 2015/16 1 895 tonnes. 2016/17. 1 April to 30 Sept. 921 tonnes.
