Tender description

Bishop’s Stortford Town Council has set itself the strategic goal of developing and implementing a vision of the Town as a visitor destination, it therefore wishes to commission a specialist tourism research consultant to assist with this. It is envisaged that the consultant would work with our Tourist Information centre, selected officers and members as well as other stakeholders, to include The Bishop’s Stortford Museum, East Herts District Council and Visit Herts. It is our expectation that the consultant will work largely independently to source the necessary factual information. Key Outcomes 1. Create an Inventory of visitor assets & potential In order that we have a clear understanding of the current opportunities and future potential for attracting and entertaining visitors both within the town and in the immediately surrounding area. 2. Gap analysis and vision Identify gaps in provision and infrastructure to support the visitor offer; develop a vision for the offer and identify commercial opportunities. 3. Produce a plan & implementation programme Produce a list of practical projects or actions, with approximate costs and impact assessment, to realise the potential and exploit opportunities to attract investment. 4. Produce a plan for sustainability Create an outline plan to ensure that the offer is sustained / maintained at a practical cost. Deliverables 1. Draft, and final report on the above (20 hard copies plus electronic copy in MS Word or Publisher) 2. Presentation of the penultimate draft of the report to the Working Group 3. Presentation of the final report to the Town Council The presentation material and reports will be the property of the Town Council. In addition to the above it is expected that interim findings will be shared with the Council working group in informal consultant-led meeting(s) Proposals If you wish to tender please provide a short proposal (1–4) pages for the work outlining how you intend to respond to the requirements, your anticipated timescale to deliver, and your proposed fee. You are encouraged to suggest variations on the above outcomes and deliverables should you feel it is appropriate. Please email your response to kim.hollylee@bishopsstortfordtc.gov.uk by Friday 18th March 2016, however, should you wish to discuss the programme please telephone James Parker 01279 712147 or email james.parker@bishopsstortfordtc.gov.uk
