SOFT MARKET TESTING - SYRIAN REFUGEES VULNERABLE PERSONS RESETTLEMENT (VPR) PROGRAMME

Tender description

The government has established a ‘Syrian Vulnerable Person Resettlement (VPR) Programme in order to provide a route for the most vulnerable refugees to come to the UK. The resettled refugees are given five years’ Humanitarian Protection status, with permission to work and access public funds. Herefordshire Council has agreed to accept up to 60 refugees, which is likely to equate to approximately 20 households. They will generally be in family groups, but could also include a small number of vulnerable single people or couples. Herefordshire Council is looking to undertake a potential procurement exercise to put in place future contractual arrangements, which will fulfil our commitment under the VPR Programme. To support this, we are carrying out a soft market testing exercise to seek the market’s views on a model of service delivery, the capacity of the market to supply this service, and the level of interest in this proposed procurement activity.
