Tender description

A bespoke assay for chlamydia antibodies has been developed by Imperial that PHE has used for previous chlamydia seroprevalence studies. We used this assay for several studies of chlamydia seroepidemiology. One of these studies, published in PLOSOne in 2013 (Horner, Soldan et al), used the PHE Sero-Epidemiology Unit archive of serum specimens to end 2010. We now have access to serum specimens from 2013-2014 and funding to extend the study to include these years, along with additional age groups from previously investigated years. The work requires provision of chlamydia pgp3 antibody testing by Imperial: there is no other supplier of this service.
