Opportunity for inclusion onto an Approved List, for Drug & Alcohol Detoxification Services Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, in partnership with Thurrock Council, is committed to ensuring timely access to high quality professional drug and alcohol detox facilities for the residents of Southend and Thurrock. In this regard we are inviting expressions of interest from experienced detox providers for inclusion onto the Council’s Approved Provider’s List for the provision of Drug & Alcohol Detoxification services to young people and adults. We are opening our existing Approved List to invite additional providers who are able to deliver detoxification services to meet the needs of all drug and alcohol users for whom inpatient clinical interventions are required. This will include complex presentations such as dual diagnosis, pregnancy, physical health complications and dependency on multiple substances. Supporting Southend and Thurrock Council’s ambitions to increase choice for individuals and promoting the self-directed support initiative, this Approved List will ensure that service users and their families are provided with a choice of experienced and quality approved care providers across the country. It is envisaged that a maximum of 4 additional providers will be invited onto the current Approved List to reach the maximum number of 12 providers. The contract is to commence on 1st June 2016 and run until 30th September 2017. We are seeking to procure a combined Approved List for both detox and rehab provision in early 2017 to commence on 1st October 2017. Current levels of detoxification service referrals equate to approximately £200k per annum. Please note that this Approved List will be made available to other Local Authorities.
