The subject matter of this Notice is the market engagement for the supply of care provision in a new 80 bed care home with nursing care including for residents with dementia and behaviour which may be challenging. The proposal is for the Council to fund and build the Care Home on Council owned land in Poole, Dorset. The purpose of this early market engagement exercise is to; — Inform the care market of the Council's Plans — Gauge the level of interest in the external marketplace for organisations willing to provide care and operate the proposed 80 bed care home with nursing and dementia care — Inform preparation of a full business case for the development of a Council site to build a new 80 bed care home — To gain an insight from the care market on the impact of the design on providing quality affordable care — Inform any subsequent procurement exercise including the development and refinement of the service specification and associated terms and conditions of the lease. The market engagement consists of: 1. An invitation to download and respond to a Soft Market Testing Questionnaire, which seeks your views to assist the Council achieve the objectives of the market engagement activity. Closing date for responses is 8.4.2016. 2. The opportunity to attend a Care Providers Engagement Event on Thursday 5.5.2016 at Lighthouse Poole which will provide further opportunity to give feedback and comment on our plans. The event will also be an opportunity to meet the appointed architects who will present their design ideas for you to comment upon. The ‘Engagement Event’ is intended for up to 2 senior managers (ideally one operational manager/practitioner and one commercial/financial manager) from each company with experience of successful care, successful commercial arrangements and best practice design for residential care homes for those with dementia and/or requiring nursing. Attendance is not restricted to only those fully completing the Soft Market Testing Questionnaire.
