Tender description

The Councils aim to have a healthy and fit workforce able to perform the Councils' duties to the best of their ability to meet the needs of their employees. The Service will be a Nurse Advisor led Occupational Health Service. Ordinarily the Service will be provided between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank and public holidays) for 52 weeks each year; however the Provider will be required to be flexible in meeting the requirements of the Council that may fall outside these times. For the purposes of this Service the ‘Councils’ means Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire East Borough Council and Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council and any authorised agent or partner of the Council including Schools. The Provider shall – — Provide an economic, efficient and confidential Nurse Adviser led occupational health service to the Councils that recognises the complexity of the services provided by the Councils and the varying needs created. — Take a proactive role in assisting the Councils in the development and review of their employment practices systems so far as occupational health is concerned. — Work with the Councils to identify potential work related health risks and reduce existing risks to as low as reasonably practical. — Provide advice to the Councils on health issues affecting the health and well-being of employees, including advice on working conditions and the prevention of employment related disease and / or disorders. — Maintain an up-to-date awareness of developments in the occupational health field and advise the Councils accordingly, making recommendations for changes to policies as appropriate. — Liaise with the Councils in assessing, monitoring and reviewing the occupational health service and developing, monitoring and reviewing the Service and appropriate health targets. — Liaise with the Councils' officers, attending meetings and provide advice, both oral and written on any matters arising from any of the activities detailed above. — Ensure awareness of the culture of the Councils and be pro-active within it, to help maintain good employment practices in relation to the health and well-being of its employees. — Provide the Service in such a manner that ensures that all users of the Service are treated equally and no users of the service are treated less favourably because of their colour, race, culture, religion, gender, nationality, age, marital or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, disability, ethnic origin or status as a carer. — Work in partnership with the Councils' HR staff and managers towards the aim of reducing sickness absence levels. The Provider shall provide to the Council: The Service will predominantly comprise of the following core services: Pre-employment screening service Management referrals Counselling Health Surveillance Services / Medicals Hearing Tests Driver Medical (including HGV/LGV/minibus drivers) HAVs Assessments Spirometry Skin assessments Additional Services Night worker assessments DSE Eyesight Screening Physiotherapy Drug and Alcohol Testing (price per session — service to be provided within 2 hours of verbal request) Workplace ergonomic assessments Vaccinations e.g. Flu, Hep B.
