Tender description
Somerset County Council (SCC) has a statutory duty to ensure that there are sufficient school places of high quality within the county. Bridgwater is a market town in Somerset. It is in the administrative district of Sedgemoor and is located on major communication routes through the South West. Bridgwater is 5 miles from Hinkley Point where EDF Energy has developed proposals for a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C. Bridgwater has a rising population, currently standing at approximately 36,600. SCC has identified a need to open a new 420 place primary school (210 places with a nursery provision in the first instance). Commissioning of phase 2 (up to 14 classrooms) will be managed according to demographic growth and build out rate of housing developments in the vicinity. Keywords: education, school
