Repair and Maintenance of Public Play Areas

Tender description

The Council seeks Quotes for Maintenance of play areas and associated equipment in public places throughout the Borough of Bournemouth. Currently 68 different sites although subject to change and may reduce in number. The type and quantity of equipment will also change/vary. The contract will be for 3 years + 1 year + 1 year. The estimated value of the contract over 5 years is £300,000 - £400,000. This figure is an estimate and the Council can’t guarantee that this value of business can be generated during the period of the contract. The contract will be used as and when required. Please see list below for the type of work expected during the contract. • Attach signs to gates • Secure fittings to rope bridge • Commission water play equipment • Decommission water play equipment • Timber repairs to multi play steps • Shorten rope to multi play • Fix trip point in safety ground tiles • Repairs to wet pour • Macadam repairs in play area • Sanding of safety carpets • Refurbishments to sand digger • Repairs to fencing • Install new fencing • Install new gate • Replace bolt covers on carousel • Replace vandalised side panel to multi play • Reattach seat to zip wire • Adjust zip wire tension • Replace damaged zip wire chain sleeves • Replace cable to zip wire • Remove graffiti from timber multi play • Redecorate pedestrian gates to play area • Alterations to gate to remove finger entrapment • Adjustments to gate locking mechanism • Remove slide and foundations and make good the surface • Install new swing to manufacturers specifications • Secure step to timber crocodile • Redecorate seating • Replace bearings to rotating equipment • Reset frame to flat seat swings • Replace worn swing chains • Repair shackles to basket swing • Re-secure fittings to rocket swing • Fit new seat to swing • Take down swing and store • Change swing bushes • Inspect all swing shackles and bushes • Welding repairs to swing frame • Raise height of swings to meet recommendations • Repair stone wall in play area • Fill in hole left by removal of equipment • Reattach climbing net to frame • Timber repairs to picnic table • Make safe sharp edge to slide • Replace lock to litter bin • Install litter bin • Install dog waste bin • Supply slabs for bin installation • Make up and install timber panels To respond to the tender you will need to ensure that your organisation is registered on this site in order to access the word and excel response documents, as the complete tender process will be undertaken electronically.
