Tender description

This Contract is for a Framework of 3 suppliers to design, supply and install semi-permanent ramps in the community. The Council intends to invite the 3 highest scoring bidding organisations onto the Framework subject to having passed Sections A-F of the Business Questionnaire. The Contract is for an initial period of 2 years with an option to extend for up to 2 x 12 months. Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) are currently delivered through the internal Home Improvement Agency (HIA), called Durham and Darlington Home Improvement Agency, who deliver HIA services across the Durham County Council and Darlington Borough Council areas. HIAs assist vulnerable home-owners and tenants, who are older, disabled or on low incomes to repair or adapt their homes. DFGs are available to owner-occupiers, landlords and tenants of registered providers and are delivered to people who have been assessed by an Occupational Therapist (OT) as having an essential need to enable them to live more independently. It is expected that the successful suppliers on the framework will be required to get the necessary planning permissions and for the where relevant the Principal Designer for the purposes of the CDM Regulations is to be appointed by the Contractor.
