Tender description

The Department of Finance and Personnel is placing this transparency notice to alert economic operators to a modification of a contract in accordance with Regulation 72 (1) (c) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The modification will extend the contract for the Provision of managed network services for the Northern Ireland Public Sector (2007/S 197-238964 OJEU Publication date of 12.10.2007) for 24 months from 1.10.2017. The contracting authority is relying on Regulation 72 (1) (c) (i) the need for modification has been brought about by circumstances which the contracting authority could not have foreseen such as the severe financial constraints facing the contracting authority and the unprecedented reduction in resources through a Voluntary Exit Scheme. (ii) the modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract as the contract will continue to perform the services described in the original contract notice and procurement documents; (iii) the increase in price is estimated at 20 % of the original contract price and therefore will not exceed 50 % of the original contract price. The Department has now put plans in place to procure a replacement service and this is being taken forward as a cross-sectoral collaborative procurement.
