Tender description

Tools. Hand tools. Special Projects Search and Countermeasures Delivery Team, part of the Defence Equipment and Support Organisation (DE&S) within the UK Ministry of Defence, has a requirement for an Underwater Fixing Tool. This tool is to be used by military divers to attach a range of fixtures and fittings to stone, concrete, rock, bricks and metal in the underwater environment. Specific tasks typically supported through the use of the underwater fixing tool include, but are not limited to, the following: a) Construction; b) Demolitions (fixing charges); c) Buoyancy tasks (using lift bags, usually up to 1 000kg); d) Repair/Patching of infrastructure and equipment. This tool should operate in air, fresh water and seawater, be operable by a single diver and be safe by design. The project will deliver the tool with associated consumables and ancillaries, and provide through life support by way of spares and repairs.
