Tender description

The Authority is seeking to establish a contract for the Provision of Taxi Inspections Services across the Highland Council Area. The Services shall take the form of statutory inspection and testing of taxis and private hire vehicles to an enhanced MOT Standard which includes a specified additional Safety, Utility and Appearance Inspection and the option at the same time to obtain an MOT certificate. The Council is seeking to appoint one Contractor to cover the whole Highland Council Area, however, the Contractor may utilise sub-contractors and/or consortia members to facilitate the provision of the Services across the Area. The Council is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community. Accordingly the Council has incorporated community benefits into this procurement in accordance with Regulation 29 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulation 2012. A weighted Community Benefit question has been included within the Invitation to Tender — responses to this question shall be evaluated.
