Tender description

The London Borough of Lambeth seeks to run a 3 year Pilot for An Independent Travel Training Service in Lambeth. The service will be for young people with Special Educational Needs and aims to train 75 young people in the first year, increasing the independence of children with SEND to travel to and from School. The service provider is expected to recruit and train travel buddies, be involved in development work with schools and parents to promote the service and develop buy-in and co operation, complete assessments of the young people referred to the service, train them, and monitor outcomes and complete follow up checks. All children will be assessed individually for suitability for the service. The service will be delivered on a payment by results basis, dependant entirely on successful outcomes. The contract value is estimated to be up to 500 000 GBP per annum, there will be no start-up or initial funding for this service. The Council is seeking suppliers who have the capacity to deliver this service commencing June 2016. This is not a call for competition.
