Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are seeking to commission primary care Level 4 anticoagulation services provided by GP practices. The service will enable patients to receive their INR management closer to home via the provision of a level 4 INR Enhanced Service. 1 element to enable the commissioning of the primary care anticoagulation service is to secure the provision of the relevant equipment, training, quality assurance and ongoing provision of anticoagulation strips. It is envisaged that there will be a phased uptake and it is therefore proposed that the offer to practices to provide the INR level 4 service remains open.
