Tender description

Leicester City Council invites Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations to apply for support in delivering proposals that will strengthen the City Council’s response to the general aims of the Public Sector Equality Duty (as defined in the Equality Act 2010). These aims require the City Council (in exercising its functions) to have due regard to the need to: • Eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation; • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not; and • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not. The City Mayor has decided to establish this Community Engagement Fund as a way of supporting VCS organisations in helping deliver these outcomes for the benefit of local communities and individuals with identified protected characteristics. This decision was made after an extensive review of how the City Council works with the Voluntary and Community Sector to engage local communities. Keywords: grant, funding, support grant, growth
