Tender description

The opportunity is for the running (including operation and maintenance) of the existing Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre at Bridge of Don (the ‘Existing AECC’) and then the new AECC to be built at Bucksburn (the ‘New AECC’). The successful contractor will deliver services from the Existing AECC until the New AECC is operational, and for a term of 10 years at the New AECC. The successful contractor shall pay to the Council an annual charge for the opportunity to derive revenue from running the Existing AECC and the New AECC. The successful bidder will be expected to: 1. operate and maintain the Existing AECC from 1.4.2017 to the start date of operations at the New AECC (the ‘New AECC Start Date’); 2. operate and maintain the New AECC from the New AECC Start Date for a 10-year term; 3. promote the New AECC and the Existing AECC to maximise sponsorship and revenue-generating opportunities; 4. actively participate in the design discussions relating to the New AECC; and 5. actively support the transition from the Existing AECC to the New AECC.
