Tender description

On 1.4.2008 non-domestic customers in Scotland became the first in the world to be able to choose their water and sewerage supplier and have since then benefited from lower bills and enhanced service. Retailers wishing to operate in the Scottish market must be licensed by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland, becoming a Licenced Provider (LP), and deliver services in compliance with the Market Code and an Operational Code. The Market Code was originally published on 1.8.2007 and has been subject to regular review and amendments since. The latest edition is available from the CMA website (www.cmascotland.co.uk). As part of the Commission's oversight role it wishes to engage a suitably qualified firm to deliver tailored market audit services through which it can monitor compliance by LPs with the Market Code and identify areas in which the Code requires strengthening to protect the interests of customers.
