Shared Lives Market Engagement Event

Tender description

The Councils of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth are developing shared staffing and service arrangements. This creates the opportunity for the two councils to jointly procure a Shared Lives service for Adults and Young People (16-18). Currently Wandsworth has an outsourced service whilst Richmond’s is in house. In addition Hounslow Borough Council spot purchases a small number of placements provided by the Richmond service. Existing placements in each of the boroughs are a mix of long term, short term and respite, with the focus mainly on supporting adults with learning disabilities. The new joint service would continue to support these placements, but would also be looking to explore the potential to diversify and provide for other adults, for example those with dementia or mental health needs. We are aiming to commence a procurement exercise in the Spring of 2016 in order to secure the required provision across the boroughs. To shape the commissioning and procurement plans for this new joint service, we are looking to engage with the market and seek your views as to how a Shared Lives service should be delivered across each of the boroughs.
