Tender description

The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Marling School and Stroud High School. The catering contract being offered will commence on 1.9.2016 based on an initial 3-year contract term with the option to extend for a further 2 years depending on service delivery and financial results. The Schools are seeking both innovation and the application of current food trends within the tender submissions and would expect as a result of this to be able to identify ‘best value’ and work in partnership with the chosen contractor going forward. Marling School: Current numbers on roll are 864 students, including some 240 6th Formers, plus 108 teaching and support staff. Current turnover figures are circa 90 000 GBP per annum including Free School Meals, Staff Duty Meals and Hospitality. In addition to this the current contractor also produces meals for Randwick Primary School on a daily basis. The current value of this service is circa 18 500 GBP per annum and the current billing arrangement is between Marling School and Randwick Primary School. The School received funding for the build of a new catering / dining facility some two years ago and this new facility is modern and vibrant. Stroud School: Current numbers on roll are 893 students, including 261 6th Formers, plus 104 teaching and support staff. Current turnover figures are circa 177 500 GBP per annum including Free School Meals, Staff Duty Meals and Hospitality. This figure also includes 65 000 GBP of 6th Form sales. Suppliers which are invited to tender should take into account the current size of the dining areas at Stroud High School and submit proposals to reduce queuing times and maximise the use of the dining space. In turn the Students of Stroud High School should have an enhanced, social and enjoyable dining experience during the new contract term. 6th Form: The 6th Form provision caters for both Marling School and Stroud High School students and is currently administered through the Stroud High School catering account. To ensure total clarity of the Sixth Form catering operation the new contract term will require this service to be accounted for on a separate accounting system. All 3 catering accounts will be based on an initial 3-year contract term with the option to extend for a further 2 years depending on service delivery and financial results. Financially the contract will be based on a fixed price agreement during the contract term and if any improvements to financial surpluses are generated then the Contractor shall share these on an agreed percentage return. Free School Meals and any ad hoc catering requirements will be invoiced on a monthly basis and backed up with daily analyses of the charges. The successful contractor will be expected to deliver a concise and detailed method of management reporting at the end of each month, thus updating the Client on contract performance. It is imperative that an open book policy is offered to ensure the Schools have total clarity on financial performance.
