Tender description

The Contracting Authority is undertaking a major recruitment drive and is seeking to establish a framework of supplier(s) to support the induction of new recruits who will supply qualified driving tutors to assist with delivering driving courses and assessments leading to the Institute of Healthcare and Development (“IHCD”) emergency driving accreditation (or equivalent). The scope of the tender comprises as a minimum, the provision of qualified driving tutors who will deliver driving courses, both theory and practical, and assessments required to achieve both IHCD Emergency Driving (D2) or IHCD Ambulance Driving (D1) accreditation (or equivalent). Providers may also be required to supply suitable vehicles for driving tuition to alleviate capacity issues with the Contracting Authority’s own fleet. The contract will be for twenty four (24) months with an option to extend for a further twelve (12) months. The anticipated volumes of new recruits requiring training will be in the region of 600 - 800 over the next two years however no guarantee of volume is given. The Contracting Authority recognises the current IHCD D1 and D2 accreditations are to be replaced in 2016 with a new accreditation. It is expected the successful provider(s) will continue to supply driving tutors for the replacement accreditation (see attached document “IHCD accreditation changes”).
