The Technology Products and Services category forms part of the newly formed Technology Pillar within Crown Commercial Service (CCS). The priority for Technology Products and Services over the next 12 months is to work extensively with the market and customers to set out our strategic direction for this category. Recognising market advancements and the challenges being faced by public sector customers Technology Products and Services will be seeking to develop ‘integrated’ commercial solutions for the supplier of commodity technology and technology services to assist customers with digital transformation. These solutions will form part of the overall Technology category commercial offerings, which will continue to include Framework Agreements for the other specific category areas: Cloud and Digital, and Network Services. For the avoidance of doubt any competitive activity resulting from this Notice will focus on establishing a procurement route for commodity technology products. Working in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and public buying organisations YPO, ESPO, CBC and NEPO, CCS aim to provide customers with a market leading commercial solution for their commodity technology requirements, to drive value, benefits and savings for the public sector and to support customers through digital transformation. The purpose of the PIN is to: 1. Give advance notice that Crown Commercial Service (CCS) as the Contracting Authority, is to consider undertaking a tendering exercise to set up a new contracting vehicle to service Central Government and Wider Public Sector Organisations for their commodity technology hardware and software requirements. 2. Gauge the market interest in this procurement. 3. Identify suppliers who would like to assist in developing a world class technology goods supply chain for the public sector.
