Tender description
Birmingham City Council is currently revisiting the way it provides Electric Vehicle Charging to its customers — both citizens and businesses. The Council's existing Charge Point Management System (CPMS) has been in place since 2014 and it is now taking the opportunity to refresh its thinking and to ascertain whether other options are available. The council welcomes views from potential suppliers to develop its approach in delivering a Charge Point Management System (CPMS) which is fit for purpose. The council is looking for supplier(s) who are able to provide Birmingham with a Charge Point Management System (CPMS) that is run by CPNOs that contains a database of all Charge Points and Users of the Charge Point network concerned. It must also monitor the health of the Charge Point equipment, activate and terminate charging events, initiate PAYG transactions and collect usage data from Charge Points which should be available to the Council. The CPNO should also consider opportunities for expanding the existing network to include EV car clubs which use designated EV car club bays whether through private investment or as a result of funding the Council can secure from time to time e.g. central Government grants, section 106 contributions. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this market consultation and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest and download details.
